Volunteering
At the Council of Churches, we are “Doing together what one can not do alone”. Our programs and ministries depend on the efforts of over 500 active volunteers! Volunteers are a vital part of the Attleboro Area Council of Churches Mission and programs . Below are some potential opportunities to volunteer, please consider how you would like to help. We are happy to answer any questions you may have. Thank you for your support and interest.
Summer Kids Café – help prepare and serve free bagged lunches to kids in a neighborhood park weekday(s) 11am – 1pm
Special Events – help plan and organize fundraising events or just help out on the day of the event!
Food Pick-Up- strong body, mid-day availability, once a month
Church/youth group activities – Hunger Rally (Sept.), Crop Hunger Walk (Sept-Oct.), Homeless Awareness Weekend (Nov.), SOUPER Bowl (Jan.)
Elder Ministry – visit the elderly in nursing homes, a ½ hour commitment to friendship when you are available… some training required.
Food Drives – help others plan and implement a food drive
Serve in Food n’ Friends Kitchens – limited availability, minimum age 12 yrs. old
Worship committee – Ecumenical Holy Week, Interfaith Thanksgiving Service
Annual Mailing- help out during month of July: folding, sticking, stuffing YIPPEE!
Free Kids Event – Back-to-School Pizza Party helper in late August
Outreach Activities – attend community fairs and events or visit community Churches, organizations and businesses to speak about the Attleboro Area Council of Churches important programs – supported and accompanied by a staff or board member.

Wherever direct work with children is involved, adult volunteers will be required to have an approved background check (CORI). Fee covered by AACC.
